The Friends of Wildwood Museum

Beginning in the spring of 2023, our staff slowly began collecting and storing different artifacts, documents, and displays in a very special room of our building: the first crematory in Lycoming County, built in 1972. You can contact our office to see if the museum is, or can be made, available. Below are some of the topics covered in the displays.

Historical Documents

Housed in Wildwood Cemetery’s Friends of Wildwood Museum are multiple historical documents for you to peruse, from original architecture plans to antique lot owner manuals and deeds issued nearly 100 years ago.

The Wildwood Cemetery Grounds

With over 200 acres now, Wildwood has consisted of up to 600 acres in its prime. Through the years the land has changed, including dozens of deeds between Wildwood and farmers, construction plans, and discoveries made.

Original Photography by D. Vincent Smith

Wildwood is lucky enough to be captured in the works of local photographer D. Vincent Smith, a prolific member of the community whose work ranged from the late 1800s to 1930s.

Decedents of Note

All 60,000+ burials in Wildwood are of note, but among them are famous politicians, philanthropists, artists, and those who lived an entirely unique life, all sharing the same transition into Wildwood’s care where they know educate the masses.
