Headstone Cleaning & Repair Workshop

Free to watch · $25 to be certified · $75 for certification and a take-home cleaning kit
Learn which products and methods clean a headstone safely, and which ones quietly destroy the stone. All proceeds go to Friends of Wildwood, which is what pays for the free tours and events on this page.
Hands-on places are limited to 10 and fill first come, first served. Payment is cash or check on the day.

Lantern-Led Tour
Saturday, October 17 · 5:30–6:30 PM and 7:00–8:00 PM
Free to attend — donations are welcome and go towards running costs
Our annual lantern-led tour, held in partnership with the James V. Brown Library. Two groups each evening, each booked separately.
The 7:00 PM tour is followed by a free showing of the original Phantom of the Opera in our historic chapel.
Registration for both groups opens 3 October, through the James V. Brown Library.

Murderers, Morbidities and Mysteries
Saturday, October 31 · 7:00 PM
$10 per person
A Halloween-night walk through the darker corners of Wildwood’s history — the murders, the misfortunes and the cases nobody ever solved.
Not recommended for children. The tour is held after dark and covers difficult subject matter.

Victorian Christmas

Hot cider and ginger snaps, and a historical tour of our building and museum. Come and go across the day.

Stargazing at Wildwood

An evening under the sky on some of the darkest open ground in the city. Hot chocolate and snacks are available, and everything raised goes to Friends of Wildwood, the 501(c)(3) that pays for the free events on this page.

Wreaths Across America

The annual wreath laying. The public is welcome to join us in honouring the veterans buried here for their service and their sacrifice.

Saturday Volunteer Days
Every Saturday, year round
Free
Open to volunteers of all ages — under 16 with a parent or guardian. No registration, just turn up. Tools, cleaning supplies and training are provided. What we work on changes with the season: cleaning and grounds work in spring, planting and the Civil War Circle in summer, tours and crafts in autumn, and records and research indoors over winter.

Wildwood Memorial Day Observance
Each Memorial Day morning
Free — all welcome
A public morning observance honouring the veterans laid to rest on our grounds: a flag-placing ceremony at veterans’ graves, followed by a reading of names from our Veterans and Honor Roll.
